Heroes

The clouds gather,
the winds blow
as he casts a wary eye.
Their swords are drawn,
their shields are locked
as commanders dress
the lines.
He checks his ranks,
remembers names,
brothers and sisters all,
and grips his sword
tighter still
for the love that binds
them all.
Horns are sounded,
the lines move out,
and warriors praise the God
whose blessings lead
these heroes toward
a foe that’s held
in awe.

About Eric

Living each day as a husband, father and friend; remembering to seek the light and avoid the dark; thanking God for His love, and mercy. I can't do this on my own.

This gave me goosebumps. I saw it like a movie, being played out. Thank you so much, Eric, for writing and sharing. God bless you as you move out in His love.

Praise God, Deb!  That’s about as close as I can get to describing this love story that we’re in!  The battles aren’t over, but the victory is won 🙂
